Ya’ax Boutique Hotel is an exclusive gem in the Historic Centro of Mérida, only two blocks away from the picturesque Parque de Mejorada (Mejorada Park) and also two blocks away from the Theatre Peon Contreras that hosts the Symphonic Orchestra of Estado de Yucatán. Previously a painter and sculptor’s gallery, the building was restored by artisans using regional techniques and local materials to preserve its Yucatecan heritage. The new construction blends with the original house where Ya’ax successfully combines the atmosphere of the past with the practicality of the present. It has 11 luxurious rooms, each of them with its own identity, charm and bespoked decorated, reflecting the concept of individuality with which Ya’ax was born.
