Achillion (Corfu-Town, Greece)

Das Achillion ist der ehemalige Palast der Kaiserin Elisabeth von Österreich, bekannt vom Musical und unter dem Namen Sissi. Wegen ihrer Lungenkrankheit weilte sie lange auf Korfu im Achillion und wurde so auch zur berühmtesten Bewohnerin Korfus. Der Blick vom Achillion aufs Meer ist sehr beeindruckend. Beeindruckend sind auch die beiden Achill Statuen. Auf dem Bild links sieht man das Werk von Ernst Herter, welches durch seine Detailtreue und Ausstrahlung den Betrachter in seinen Bann zieht. Ein 1907 von Wilhelm II. aufgestellter Achill beeindruck dahingegen durch seine Höhe von 5,5m.
