The Art Institute of Chicago was founded in 1866 and is home to an art museum and school. The exhibits in the museum include a collection of post-Impressionist and American art which is regarded as one of the finest in the United States. On display are works by Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Georges Seurat, Marc Chagall, Edward Hopper,Pierre-Auguste Renoir and more. Guided tours and educational programs are available, as is a museums shop where books, prints and postcards are on sale. The museum is located in the Loop district of Chicago, along the Historic US Route 66. Please note that the Art Institute of Chicago does not offer parking spaces, public garages can be found within easy walking distance. Opening hours vary throughout the year.
