We are a not for profit’ organization by the name of BC Interior Forestry Museum and Discovery Center. The museum was founded in 1999 by a group of retired foresters to preserve and protect the artifacts and stories of the early years of logging within British Columbia’s Interior Rainforest. Big stories go along with the big trees harvested in the area: we have an extensive collection of old machinery, one of the first snowmobiles and many chainsaws. Story boards line the museum with historic facts and movies play in our media room adding to the stories with a visual understanding. Also present: a replica fire tower and a fire suppression exhibit. We’ve slightly changed our museums direction to becoming more of a Discovery Center. Teaching our guests through our newest exhibits on the diseases that affect our forests, who where the first foresters in the area, how we log here, and the effect climate is having on our forests. During our full operational months we offer on Friday from 6-9pm a campfire with marshmallow roasting and a Canadian favorite, S’more making. On Saturdays we offer a multitude of forestry demonstrations, different depending on the week. Entrance by donation!
