Britannia Pier is the second pier in Great Yarmouth and located at the north end of the beach. The pier you can visit today was built in 1901 to replace an older structure which dated back to 1858 but had been severely damaged several times and needed replacement. Today the 245m (810ft) long pier is an entertainment complex that offers two amusement arcades, children’s rides, games, bars, restaurants, snack bars and sweet shops. Also located on the pier is the Britannia Pier Theatre where live concerts, shows and comedy can be enjoyed. Tickets for the shows can be booked on-line over the website.
