Castle Rigg is a megalithic circle consisting of 38 standing stones which are about 3000 years old. It measures 30 metres in diameter and encloses a group of ten smaller stones. Situated on the fells just outside the town of Keswick it is surrounded by the mountainscape of Helvellyn and High Seat. The circle is now in trust to English Heritage. Admission: Free Open: Daily
