Victoria Terminus Railway Station is an example of Victorian Gothic architecture that exists in India and although it has officially been renamed as Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, nobody calls it that. Every one simply refers to it as VT. It is a most vast collection of domes, spires and arches, all richly ornamented. Most people mistakenly think at first that it must be a great house or museum instead of a railway station that is used by about 2 million people a day, crowding onto over 1000 trains. It is also visited by many thousands of tourists every year. In 2004 it has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage list.
