Colwick Country park is a 65 acre park situated in the Colwick area of Nottingham. The park hosts fly fishing for rainbow, brown and blue trout in any of its numerous lakes and ponds. Many of the lakes were created as a result of mineral extraction. Colwick is home to many different kinds of animals from butterflies, swans and ducks and also a great many different species of birds. It is popular with birdwatchers. There are many paths suitable for cycling and horse-riding, there is an adventure centre for children and orienteering routes. The park is also home to Colwick Hall, a Georgian style country house. The hall is now being used as a hotel and function venue, catering for business meeting as well as weddings. The park also adjoins Nottingham Racecourse.
