Frankfurt Palmengarten (Frankfurt, Germany)

The Palmengarten in Frankfurt is also known as Frankfurt’s “central park”. Established by the citizens of Frankfurt in 1868, it is spread over 50 acres of land. Roses, crocus, rhododendrons, azaleas, narcissus and hyacinth are a few varieties to see flower here in the spring time. The Tropicarium consists of 5000 m2 of greenhouses in which orchids, bromelias, palms, ferns and other tropical varieties normally living in the rain forest, mangrove, monsoon, savannah or thorn forest, can be found. The Palmenhaus, built in 1869, shelters sub tropical varieties and palms. The park is open all year from 9am to 6pm (4pm from November to January). Entrance to the park costs 5€ for an adult and 2€ for a child. The nearest train stop is Westend, on the U6 or U7, the nearest bus stop is Siesmayerstraße or Bockenheimer Warte.
