Kaya Bunar (Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria)

The Kaya Bunar waterfall is located near the village of Hotnitsa, 15 km away from Veliko Tarnovo. In 1971 it was declared a natural landmark. The waterfall area covers 80 hectares. It is 30 m high and starts from the Hotnista eco-trail, which is situated between the Danube Valley and the Fore-Balkan. There is a pool formed in the waterfall’s base, which is suitable for fishing, but too cold and deep for swimming. The Hotnitsa waterfall is not very big, but it is a challenge for the lovers of the extremes and for those who look for a quiet and place for recreation.
