L'Oceanogràfic (Valencia, Spain)

L’Oceanogràfic is a marine park in Valencia, it ranks amongst the top 10 most visited tourist attractions in the city and includes Europe’s largest dolphinarium, which contains 5 different pools. Dolphins are however only one example of over 500 different marine species that can be found within the park. In total there are more than 45,000 animals including walruses, sea lions, Beluga whales manta rays and penguins. These can be found within 10 different sections of the park that represent different regions of the world. These areas include the polar region (Arctic and Antarctica), the Mediterranean, tropical seas, temperate seas and the Red Sea region. L’Oceanogràfic also serves as a research centre and includes a science museum. A complex breeding program also takes place every year. Within the park there are several shops and 3 different restaurants, including an underwater one where the animals can be observed through a glass roof above. Admission prices vary and include combined tickets to both the marine park and science museum or ones that just allow entry into the marine park. Full admission costs are available on the website along with the opening hours.
