Lake Dillon is fed by the Snake River, the Blue River and Ten Mile Creek and is a 3000 acre recreation area. The water is used by the City of Denver and is the largest in the cities system. The marina operated by the Town of Dillon is open every day from the last weekend in May through the last weekend of October. Dillon Reservoir is home to two marinas, fishing, hiking, a bike path and access from the Towns of Dillon and Frisco. There is no fee to access the reservoir. Various fees will apply for such items as renting bicycles, boats or fishing licenses. The reservoir is owned by the City of Denver’s water department. To get to the lake: From Denver: Take I-70 West to exit 205. Turn left after exiting and drive 2 miles. Dillon is at the top of the hill. From Eagle: Take I-70 East to exit 205. Turn right after exiting and drive 2 miles. Dillon is at the top of the hill. Aside from the hotels in the Towns of Dillon and Frisco there are five campgrounds near the lake or in the Dillon Ranger district. Camping is usually open from Memorial Day (in May) until early September.
