The Marché de Noël in Strasbourg has existed since 1570. Since that time it has never ceased to grow, covering a large part of the historical centre of town. The Christmas market is known world wide for its festive atmosphere, lights and stalls of all sorts of seasonal related stalls. The Opera and Cathedral overlook the annual festivities, the Place Kléber displays the colossal Christmas tree, the Place Gutenberg becomes a Russian village and the Place d’Austerlitz is transformed into a forest of delights. The market begins at the end of November until the end of December. Cakes, biscuits, arts ad crafts, music and games are what you’ll find throughout the market.
