Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (New York, USA)

The first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was held in 1924 and only employees of Macy’s department store marched in it. The parade was an instant success and today is viewed by 2.5 million of people live in New York and watched over TV by another 44 million. The parade, which is famous for its balloon displays on the floats, is held on Thanksgiving day (fourth Thursday of November) and lasts for three hours, starting at 9am. It starts at 77th Street and runs along Central Park West and Broadway until it finishes at 34th Street, where also Macy’s flagship store is located.
