Maritime Museum of Creta (Chania, Greece)
The maritime museum is located at Fort Firca in the Old town of Chania and is open daily from 09h00 to 14h00 during November to March and with closure at 16h00 the rest of the year. Tariffs for adults are 2.50 Euro and facilities include a museum-shop and library. Dating from 1973 the museum aims to preserve the naval traditions of Crete and offers displays of model ships, nautical instruments, naval memorabilia, shells and maritime art relating to various periods such as the Bronze Age, Byzantine period, Venetian period and more. There is also a reconstructed Minoan vessel and educational programmes are presented.
