Michael's Tower (Bratislava, Slovakia)

Das Michaelertor war ursprünglich ein Teil einer Befestigung aus dem Mittelalter. Der untere Teil ist im gotischen Stil erbaut und stammt aus dem 14. Jahrhundert. Von 1511 bis 1513 wurde der Turm erhöht und sein heutiges barockes Aussehen bekam er in einem Umbau in den Jahren 1753 - 1758. Der Turm hat eine Höhe von 51 m und oben thront der Erzengel Michael. Das Michaelertor kann man besteigen, so dass man von oben eine Aussicht auf die Innenstadt von Bratislava bekommt. Das Tor ist der Anfang der Michaelergasse und führt zu einer Einkaufs- und Restaurantmeile. In dem Turm befindet sich heute die Waffenexposition des Stadtmueums. Öffnungszeiten: Oktober - April: 9.30 Uhr - 16.30 Uhr, jeden Tag, außer Montag Mai - September: 10.00 Uhr.- 17.00 Uhr, jeden Tag, außer Montag Samstag - Sonntag: 11.00 Uhr - 18.00 Uhr Eintrittspreise: Erwachsene: 60 Sk (ca. 1,80 EUR) Kinder: 20 Sk (ca. 0,60 EUR)
