Mount Royal Park (Montréal, Canada)

Parc Du Mont Royal (Mount Royal Park) is located on the hill (the highest peak of which reaches 233m) after which it takes its name, and one after which the city itself was named. The hill is covered in a landscaped park, designed in the 1870’s by Frederick Law Olmsted who is better know for designing New York’s Central Park). The park has walking and cycling paths, water features and winter sports facilities, and is inhabited by hundreds of squirrels. There are two major lookouts in the park, including the Kondiaronk Belvedere, looking south towards the river and the Camillien-Houde belvedere with views to the east and the Olympic Park.
