Muiderslot (Muiden, Netherlands)

Located at the mouth of the Vecht river, Muiderslot dates from 1280 and features a 17th century interior in honour of Pieter Hooft, a poet who resided at the castle from 1609. The castle currently houses the Rijksmuseum, which is a national museum with exhibits of armour, art and period furnishings and also presents various events and activities, including a daily falconry show from April to October. Opening hours (April to October) are from 10h00 to 17h00 on weekdays and from 12h00 to 18h00 on weekends and holidays, whilst the rest of the year it is open weekends only from 12h00 to 17h00. The adult tariff is € 8,75
