Newcastle Central Station (Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom)

This is Newcastle’s only national railway station, with trains going to all parts of Great Britain. It has roughly 10 platforms: some for local trains, some for national ones. There are several places to buy food and drink in the station, such as Costa, Burger King and Millie’s Cookies; also a newsagent and WH Smith where you can buy newspapers, magazines, snacks, drinks etc. The station has a travel centre which sells tickets for the current day, as well as advanced tickets and railcards. There are fast-ticket machines from which you can pick up pre-purchased tickets inside the travel centre. There is also a metro station underneath central station, which has an entrance inside and outside of the train station, from which you can travel all over Tyne and Wear and Sunderland, from as far as the airport to Sunderland City Centre. There are also many bus-stops outside the station for local bus services.
