Redmires Reservoir (Sheffield, United Kingdom)

Redmires reservoirs are a series of three man made reservoirs located on the fringe of the moors approximately 5 miles (8KM) south west of Sheffield city centre. These reservoirs were created at various stages during the 19th century. The middle Reservoir is the oldest of the three being completed in 1836. The lower Reservoir was completed in 1849 and the upper Reservoir in 1854. Today these reservoirs are owned by Yorkshire Water and there are free public rights of way through most of the area. It is a popular destination with walkers, cyclists, horse riders, birdwatchers and anglers.
