The Rocky Statue and Rocky Steps in Philadelphia are iconic and fans of the Rocky movies will be familiar with the steps leading to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, having seen Sylvester Stallone running up them in five of the movies. Rocky climbing the steps has come to symbolize achievement against the odds. It has become almost traditional for visitors to recreate the famous scene, so much so that the steps are often called “the Rocky steps”. Nearby, a larger-than-life bronze statue of Rocky is another reminder of the famous fictitious boxer. The statue was used in the Rocky III movie and then donated to the city.
