Rollesby Broad is located to the North of Great Yarmouth in the small village Rollesby. Together with the Ormesby, Lily, Ormesby Little and Filby Broads it forms the Trinity Broads. These 5 broads are a system of interconnected lakes which are disconnected from the rest of the Norfolk Broads by a sluice gate. Together the 5 broads cover an area of 161 hectar and offer 4 kms of river way and wet woodland. Boating is restricted on all of the Trinity broads and therefore they do not only produce a high quality water that is used to provide nearby Great Yarmouth with drinking water, but also offer refuge to an abundance of wildlife and flora. Animals to be spotted on these broads include marsh harriers, ducks, predatory heron, kingfisher and otter. There are several walking trails around Rollesby Broad as well as picnic areas, and fishing is allowed at the signed out areas. The Rollesby Broad Sailing Club offers sailing courses to all who are willing to become a member and refreshments are available in a pub that is located directly at the broad.
