Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (Liverpool, United Kingdom)

Dating from 1840, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra is the second oldest concert provider in Britain and is, fittingly, housed in an art deco hall which features a foyer that is partially “based on decoration in the tomb of Tutankhamen”. Productions range from classical and contemporary music to comedy and classic films shown on a “Walturdaw rising cinema screen” which is said to be the only operational one worldwide. The RLPO has toured widely and is also involved in a number of educational programs. Details of events are available at the website.
