Saint Louis Zoo (St Louis, USA)

The Saint Louis Zoo dates from the early 1900’s and is managed by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry. Located within the boundaries of Forest Park, it is close to other attractions such as the Muny Opera, Science Center, Art Museum and History Museum. Forest Park also hosts various festivals. Facilities at the zoo include Bird and Primate houses, a Herpetarium which houses various reptiles and the Monsanto Insectarium. The Lakeside Crossing area offers shops and eateries, whilst the Historic Hill area features 1900’s architecture and includes a station for the Zooline Railroad. Provision is made for disabled patrons. Entrance to the zoo is free, but there are tariffs for certain attractions and a one-day safari pass is also available at approximately 7.00 Euro. Group tours can be arranged and parking is available at both the north and south entrances of the zoo.
