Simón Bolívar International Airport (Maiquetia, Venezuela)

Also known as the Caracas Maiquetia International Airport, the airport is located on the Maiquetia coast about 30km north of Caracas. Terminals are linked by a free shuttle service and there are both taxis and buses which operate between the airport and the city, the latter running each half-hour and the journey lasting approximately 50 minutes. Bus terminals in Caracas are also nearby the Metro stations. Short and long term parking is provided at the airport. Airport facilities include banking services, Bureaux de Change and ATMs. There are also medical, postal and courier services as well as a number of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. Wheelchair access and toilets for disabled visitors are provided. A number of car rental companies are represented and there are also tourist information services at the terminals. Considered to be “the most important airport of the twelve international airports in Venezuela”, it provides flights to major destinations in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe.
