Six Flags Over Texas is a theme park in Arlington. Opened in 1961, it was the first of the Six Flags chain, and also pioneered other, now standard, theme park amenities such as one ticket for all attractions, log flume, mine train and stage shows. The park covers over 200 acres and is divided into nine areas, each with a theme running through the rides and the ancillary facilities. There are 45 rides in total with varying thrill factors, including four featuring water. Some are specifically for children and have no height requirement. The Titan is the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Texas at 245 feet and reaching a speed of 85 mph. Each area has a range of food outlets and shops, and park visitor facilities include parking, locker rental, baby care, pushchair hire. For opening times and ticketing options see the website.
