The Spanish Governor’s Place was built in 1722 in defence of the Alamo. For a period of time, while Texas was a Spanish colony, the building acted as the seat of government. The building is widely accepted as the only remaining example of an early upper-class Spanish house in the state of Texas. Hours of operation: Monday - Saturday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Sundays, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Admission fees: Adults, USD $1.50; Children ages 7 - 13, .75 cents; Children under seven, free.
