The New Year’s Eve at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin is the biggest event to celebrate the New Year in Germany. The event takes place on an area of 80,000 square metres, or two kilometres, and is set along the Strasse des 17.Juni in between two of Germany’s most well known landmarks, the Brandenburger Tor and the Siegessäule. Live music entertainment is offered on the main stage, which is located directly at the Brandenburger Tor, and two further stages. There are several video screens to enable all of the 1 million revellers the party attracts to see the performances, light and laser shows, dance floors and a spectacular fireworks display at midnight that is broadcast around the world. For your refreshment there are numerous food stalls along the way which serve snacks and hot and cold drinks and several bars. The entrance points to the event area can be found at the Brandenburger Tor, at the Siegessäule and at the Bundeskanzleramt. . The admission is free. The official programme at the main stage starts at 6.30pm and continues until the early morning hours.
