Tampere railway station (Tampere, Finland)

Tampere railway station was opened in 1936 and it was desinged by Eero Seppälä and Otto Flodin. Located right in the centre of Tampere, station has over 10 000 visitors going through every day. While there are 150 daily trains, the annual amount of passangers rises to 1,5 million. At the moment the railway station has five tracks and three platforms - two with roof. Nevertheless in the future there are some plans to build another platform and increase the amount of tracks to seven. While located quite in the center of Finland, Tampere is a connection point to many cities. Not just Helsinki, but trains also serve passangers from Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Seinäjoki and Turku. Tampere is also a major point for railway cargo. Allthough some modernisation has been made, the station still has the view like of the original station. Actually the clock tower wasn’t there until it was forced to be built little later than the actual station was complete.
