The Antiga Casa dos Pasteis de Belem is a Lisbon landmark located within a few metres of the Jeronimos Monastery in the water-front district known as Belem. The bakery produces the traditional local custard tart which can be bought from the shop or eaten in the cafe. The recipe is an ancient one devised by nuns in the kitchens of the local monastery. In the winter months the Opening hours are from 8 am to 11 pm except on Sundays when they close at 10 pm. In the summer they are open from 8 am to midnight every day of the week - and there’s almost always a queue!
