Tin City (Naples, USA)

Tin City is a themed shopping bazaar built on the site of an old oyster processing plant and incorporating waterfront buildings that was once the centre of the Naples’ fishing industry. It is now a magnet for visitors and tourists alike. The buildings themselves belie a ramshackle appearance. They have tin roofs and are connected by boardwalks. Tin City is air conditioned. It is both covered and off street parking available. Within its boundaries are over forty shops that sell a whole range of items from souvenirs, native goods, trinkets, swimwear and beach clothing. There are studios displaying the output of local artists, jewellers and craftsmen as well as antiques and natural products such as driftwood. These businesses are all locally owned. This is also an area of Naples with a wide range of eating establishments from full service restaurants to snack bars. The ticket booths for several tour boats can be found here. There are also a number of charter boats which offer half and one day fishing trips into the Gulf of Mexico. Admission free Open Monday - Saturday 10 am - 9 pm (November to May); 10am 6pm (June to October) Sunday 12 noon - 5 pm
