The Blue Flag Tyrella Beach is located in Dundrum Bay, County Down. The sand stretches over 2 kilometres, and behind the beach is an area of sand dunes. This is a conservation area that is the habitat of wild flowers and birds while also providing the opportunity for walks. There is plenty of space to have a picnic, and activities such as surfing, swimming, fishing and diving are all possible. A tourist information centre can be found close by. Tyrella Beach has a lifeguard service as well as a first aid centre and toilets, including disabled facilities. Parking is available nearby, and it is possible to arrange disabled parking on the beach. A mobile food vendor is available on a seasonal basis. Dogs are not allowed in summer between 10am and 6pm.
