Utah Olympic Park (Park City, USA)

The Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah, was built for the 2002 Winter Olympics hosted by Salt Lake City. One of several venues for the various sports, it held the bobsleigh, skeleton, luge, Nordic ski jumping, and Nordic combined events. The facilities in its 389 acres are now open to everyone, both for recreational visitors and as a training centre for top athletes. Winter facilities include ski-jumping from 6 different heights, a 1.3 km bobsleigh run and a freestyle hill. In summer there is a zipline (claimed to be the steepest in the world), a stainless steel bobsleigh track and a splash pool for freestyle aerial manoeuvres training. Visitors can try both summer and winter bobsleigh runs with a pilot. Also on the site is the Alf Engen Ski Museum, dedicated to the history of skiing in the region, and a museum of the 2002 Winter Olympics. Panoramic views can be had from the top of the ski jumps, and there are shops, a restaurant, café and conference facilities. Entrance to the site and museums is free and open every day 9 am to 6 pm. For specific facilities and maintenance closures check the website.
