Walt Disney World Back Stage Tours (Lake Buena Vista, USA)
Walt Disney World is more than an vacation resort and theme park complex. With an area of 47 square miles and an employment roster of over 55,000 people it is a self governing district in central Florida. For the visitor who wants to learn more of how the “Vacation Kingdom of the World” works and look behind the scenes at things which the public generally do not see, there are over fifty tours to satisfy the curious. Organised by The Disney Institute, they vary in length from two to seven and a half hours (and priced from $10 to $200 per person) and cover almost every aspect of the parks. Titles include “Behind the Magic of our Steam Trains”, “Mickey’s Magical Mile Stones”, “Gardens of The World” and “Seas Aqua Tour”. The tours are strictly limited in places, run variably through the week and year and may have age restrictions in place. They are not widely advertised and need to be booked through the given telephone number (from a Disney resort hotel this is 407-WDW-TOUR) and paid for by credit card. Most tours start from Epcot but details of particular events can be found by looking at the “Tours” page of the individual park.
