Zion National Park (Zion National Park, USA)

Located at the merge point of Colorado Plateau, Great Basin and the Mojave Desert is Zion National Park. It is noted for its hallmark feature Zion Canyon. The canyon is 15 miles long and up to half a mile deep (800 m), cut by the North Fork of the Virgin River over millions of years. Due to its locations and the merging regions it is home to a variety of mammals and bird life. The park is open year round 24 hours a day. The visitor center is open every day except Christmas. Hours of operation for the visitor center is Spring and fall 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. During the Summer it is 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and during the winter 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Different hours may apply for the Zion Human History Museum and Kolob Canyon Visitor Center, please check the web site for that information. Entrance tickets are valid for seven days. Admission fees: private vehicle $25, for individual (includes walk-ins, bicycle or motorcycle) $12.
