Positive Reviews

The views are beautiful.

Previous guests were thrilled with the gorgeous landscape surrounding Knockninny Country House. The hotel is right on Fermanagh Lake and surrounded by landscaped gardens overflowing with peaceful wildlife. The serene setting really helped guests to relax and unwind. Boat and bicycle rentals allowed guests to better explore the scenery.

The staff are wonderful.

Almost every guests that stayed was thrilled with the service they received at this hotel. It was apparent from many reviews that much of the staff has been employed there for some time, which only served to add to the guest experience.

The food is delicious.

The hotel boasts two restaurants, both with water front views. Guests found the food to be delicious, with fair pricing and an ample selection. They especially enjoyed dining or having a drink outside while looking out at the water.

Negative Reviews

The walls are rather thin.

Many guests complained about the lack of soundproofing between their room and the rooms next to them, complaining that they were kept up at night by their neighbor’s TV and conversation. They were also bothered by the lack of soundproofing between the floors, with the lower floor rooms being able to hear every step taken in the room above.

It could use more windows.

While some of the rooms feature sprawling views of the lake, others have only one small window. Guests who stayed in those rooms were quite disappointed, especially because the scenery surrounding the hotel is so lovely. They also lamented the lack of natural light in these rooms.

There are some quarks in the design.

Previous guests reported a few issues with their rooms. Among other things, here were some complaints that the sink and shower taps turned the wrong way, and had come loose from guests obstinately attempting to turn them in the correct direction.
