Positive Reviews

Central location.

With Exeter City Centre within easy reach and the Quay just a stroll away, St Andrews is ideally situated for those wishing to explore the historic City. For those venturing further afield, the M5 is only ten-minutes away by car.

Relaxed atmosphere.

Staff at the bed and breakfast are polite and friendly, and only too happy to provide guests with tourist information leaflets or directions. Parking is free, Wi-Fi is free and, for most, the accommodation provides a relaxed, easy atmosphere where nothing is too much trouble.

Hot, well-cooked breakfast.

Breakfast at St Andrews is a leisurely affair; you can select from a range of choices on the menu, and all are served hot and well-cooked. Portions are generous, staff are well-turned out and, for those leaving early, they will happily provide you with a packed breakfast for your onward journey.

Negative Reviews

Select your room carefully.

The rooms are, in general, spacious and comfortable. However, some guests have found certain rooms less enticing than others. Rooms in the eaves, on the top floor are, as well as being a long walk up the stairs, not blessed with the high ceilings the rest of the hotel enjoys and, if you are tall, you may spend a large part of your stay stooped.

Busy road location.

The hotel is easy to find and provides excellent access to the M5. The downside to its central location is that the main road it sits near is fairly noisy, and this does affect some rooms. For most, however, this only causes concern during the Summer, when open windows allow the noise to travel.

Mattresses due an upgrade.

Previous guests have suggested that the mattresses, bed linen and pillows could benefit from being replaced, with many stating that they have seen better days.
