About The Armstrong Hotel

Providing an eclectic mix of character-packed accommodation and entertainment, The Armstrong Hotel is ideal for getting an authentic feel of historic Fort Collins.

Guests can step back in time and stay in a vintage room, decorated with classical decor and antiques. Or not. If contemporary is more their thing, they can opt for an urban-style room instead. Whichever they choose, each one is air-conditioned and features a flat-screen television.

The Armstrong Hotel also offers three unique meeting spaces for up to 80 attendees, as well as free on-site parking. Guests can indulge in therapies or massages, ride around town thanks to free bicycle hire, or benefit from a complimentary work out a local gym.

The hotel incorporates two coffee shops: Mugs and Chocolate Cafe; whilst the Choice City Butcher offers tasty breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Evenings can be whiled away at the atmospheric underground jazz bar: Ace Gillet’s.

The hotel is under two kilometres from Colorado State University and the Odell Brewery Company.

Positive Reviews

Fantastic old-world feel

Guests just love the unique and cosy ambience of this historical boutique-style hotel and its quirky features. The decor is charming with antique furnishings and inspiring photography hung on the walls. All the rooms are slightly different too with their own individual personality – whether contemporary or vintage styles.

Great for indulging in old Fort Collins

Situated in the heart of the old town, guests say this hotel is ideal for soaking up the vibe of old Fort Collins. Getting around is easy on foot, but can also be even more fun by bicycle, thanks the hotel’s fantastic free bicycle scheme. The area around the hotel is reportedly packed with shops, restaurants, coffee bars and live music. However, guests say they don’t have to even leave the confines of the hotel to enjoy that, thanks to its great cafes and restaurant, not to mention the amazing jazz club in the basement.

Pleasant personnel

The hotel’s staff are well appreciated for the professional and attentive service they offer. They are found to be very gracious and quite discrete, being of help whenever necessary.

Negative Reviews

Soundproofing not the best

Staying in such an old building naturally has some drawbacks. Guests say the wooden floors can be quite creaky and they can often hear others walking around above or closing doors. The main disturbance that anyone staying here has to get used to, however, is the sound of the freight trains passing by at night, blowing their whistles.

Limited parking

Parking is not always very simple at this hotel, with only a few spaces available in the hotel’s car park, and guests warn that even those are quite tight.
