About Destin Harbor Houseboat

Destin Harbor Houseboat provides a different sort of self-contained, home from home accommodation; on the water at Fort Walton Beach.

Home comforts on this air-conditioned vessel include a separate living room area and a kitchen. The latter features a refrigerator, tea and coffee maker and microwave. Free Wi-Fi is also included and complimentary toiletries are to be found in the bathroom, which houses the shower.

A ‘weather eye’ can be kept open from the outside balcony area and free self-parking is available.

Neighbouring restaurants include Floyd’s Shrimp House, Burrito del Sol and Props Brewery & Grill. There are several Tom Thumb convenience stores nearby. Asiago's Skillet is a popular breakfast eaterie and Fokker’s Bar serves American style food.

In addition to surfing, golf, parasailing and rafting, there are popular places to visit. These include Cattywampus Aquatic Park, Wild Willy’s Adventure Zone and John Beasley Park.

Positive Reviews

Different and enjoyable.

This is certainly different and there are some great views to be enjoyed, particularly from the higher level. The kitchen is nice and well fitted out.

Waves of enthusiasm.

The relaxing sounds of the sea are to be heard at all times, making this a uniquely enjoyable experience - overall. The music from the bar next door is in keeping with the location and isn't at all obtrusive. One of a number of highlights is to sit on the upper deck … and just watch the dolphins.

Sunny horizons.

You don't have to go far for restaurants and shops; they're just a stroll away.  It's more memorable than a break in a hotel and if the weather is rotten, just batten down the hatches, open a bottle of wine and prepare a warming meal. If you long for something different, then this is something you must try.

Negative Reviews

Some choppy waters.

The publicity material is really enticing and attractive. Unfortunately, it doesn't relate to this vessel at all. The big plus sign is the great bar, just next door. It stays open till the early hours -and will help you forget some of the defects here.

Not plain sailing.

It's difficult getting luggage on and off the boat and this must be an amusing thing for others to watch. Another game ‘they' play is actually moving the boat to another location ... so you can spend some hours actually finding it.

Ripples of discontent.

It's a heck of a jump from dry land onto the boat. They say it will sleep four people - but accommodation is cramped so you'll need to be extremely close friends! The owner is difficult to track down should you have any queries.
