Positive Reviews

Rooms are very spacious and more than expected

For a simple bed and breakfast, the room size is bigger than expected The bathrooms are also comfortable, and everything is very clean Overall, it's a cosy spot to stay at.

Lovely discovery and pleasant scenic location

The Ben Nevis Guest House is a lovely find for travellers to come across during their Highland stroll It's a ten minute walk from River Nevis and Roaring Mill, and a perfect base for hiking, skiing, and water and canyon expeditions Lower Falls or Steall Falls are within 15 minutes by car, and Glencoe is 30 minutes away Movie buffs appreciate the proximity to the Jacobite steam train, made famous as the Hogwarts Express, and its route, seen in Harry Potter films.

Owners are very welcoming and provide nice company

The owners do what they can to make you feel valued and welcomed in their home They'll sit with you at breakfast, assist with transport and dining reservations, and provide great insider tips about local activities, shops, sites, and when best to catch the bus or rail.

Negative Reviews

Accommodations are too basic for the price

Some find the basic accommodations not enough to justify the price It would be better if dining area, lounge, and conservatory were not combined as one public room The beds could be more comfortable, and the fresh eggs in the breakfast are not enough to make it memorable.

Minor annoyances that make it less than perfect

There are a few minor criticisms of the guest house that can be annoying Spotty Wi-Fi reception, tattered and bleach stained towels, and insufficient toiletries make the stay less than perfect.

The reserved balance can only be paid by cash

It would be nice to have options for paying the balance, and not cash only.
