Positive Reviews

Peaceful yet convenient location.

The guest house is situated in the picturesque historic district and is surrounded by greenery much to the pleasure of those who stayed here. Guests were able to enjoy quiet and tranquil evenings yet found it convenient being in close vicinity to popular attractions such as the Meyer House which is just a block away from the lodging.

Spacious and well-presented rooms.

The rooms have been described as being of ample size as guests said they could move around comfortably in between the furniture and had plenty of storage space for their belongings. The decor was said to be very appropriate for the age of the building with many complimenting the well-restored original features and the elegant antique furniture. If you prefer old-world charm as opposed to ultra-modern, you won't be disappointed.

Pleasant communal spaces.

Guests enjoyed spending time on the patio during warmer weather and in the evenings many said that it was extremely pleasant sitting in the elegant and spacious lounge where they could play board games and socialise with fellow occupants.

Negative Reviews

Too many rules.

The owners of the guest house require that shoes are not to be worn on the premises which some guests found rather cumbersome and unnecessary. Others also objected to the rule regarding not being able to have visitors in the guest rooms.

Inflexible check-in and check-out times.

There is only a two hour check-in window between 4-6 which some found rather inconvenient  and check-outs is at 11 am without the possibility of it being any later.

Staff not always present.

Those who stayed here for a few days said that they did not often see the staff during their stay but mainly at the weekends when they came to prepare the cooked breakfasts.
