Positive Reviews

Lovely old fashioned inn

The Nags Head in Great Missenden, High Wycombe, is a picturesque 15th century inn that is quaint and full of character. Guests were very appreciative of the cosy, comfy rooms, the original features such as wooden beams and a log fire in the lobby, and the lovely outdoor space for dining al fresco.

Very friendly

The people at the inn are hospitable and friendly, said guests. Both leisure and business visitors have recommended the inn and have enjoyed pleasant and relaxing stays here.

Very good pub fare

Guests enjoyed the traditional pub fare served at the inn's award winning restaurant and contemporary style pub.  The complimentary breakfasts as well as the other meals served here receive very good reviews.

Negative Reviews

Small rooms

Being an ancient structure, the guest rooms are rather small and some of the doorways are very low as well. Some guests said that there isn't much space to move around in the rooms and that the bathrooms and showers are very small too. Some guests also missed having a tub to relax in.

The Nags Head rooms are located above the bar and are not sound proofed. Things can get rather noisy in the evening and many guests had trouble getting to sleep because of the noise from the pub downstairs that continued till fairly late at night.

Not inexpensive

Some guests thought that the inn and the food on offer were rather expensive. Some guests thought that in view of the small bedrooms, the tariff was rather steep. Some guests also thought that some of the room and bathroom fittings could do with some refurbishments.
