Positive Reviews

Secure city center location with Bosphorus views

Visitors mostly found the location to be convenient and central with Taksim Square and the shopping area of Nisantasi both about 20 minutes' walk away. Guests also reported feeling safe at the hotel, which is in a secure and secluded position overlooking the water. Moreover, those whose rooms had Bosphorus views were impressed with the panorama.

Top service and comfort

Guests also overwhelmingly liked the rooms and bathrooms for being spacious and fitted with all mod cons. On the whole, reviewers were impressed with the customer service describing staff as helpful, hospitable, attentive and friendly.

Excellent on-site leisure facilities

With extensive spa treatments available plus a Turkish bath, sauna, swimming pool and fitness room, this hotel impressed most guests looking for high end accommodation with a wide choice of leisure facilities on-site.

Negative Reviews

Occasional patchy Wi-Fi

Unlike some luxury hotels, Swissotel The Bosphorus does provide guests with free Wi-Fi access in all areas, which visitors appreciated. A few, however, thought the signal could occasionally be patchy and that the login process was a little cumbersome.

Mixed views on value for money

Some visitors doubted whether the hotel represented value for money compared to other high end accommodation in Istanbul. With many competitively priced dining options in the city, a few guests felt breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel were overpriced even if they were good. Bar prices were also reportedly on the high side.

Bosphorus views not guaranteed

Some visitors claimed they booked rooms with Bosphorus views but received only a partial view of the waterway, which came as a disappointment. These accounts were in the minority, however, with most guests remarking that views from the room were fine.
