About Tekarra Lodge

Tekarra Lodge resides in the Jasper National Park in Canada. Guests have the choice of staying in either the lodge or a choice of cabins.  Built with local hardwoods and stonework, each of the buildings have a rustic charm.

Each cabin has a kitchenette, microwave, and refrigerator, plus a stone fireplace. Air conditioning and heat are included in both the lodge rooms and the cabins.

The lodge is family oriented with many activities for children to enjoy. There is plenty of free parking, a concierge service, and a laundromat for guests to use.

Canadian style comfort food is served at the restaurant inside Tekarra Lodge. There are vending machines on the premises as well as an outdoor barbecue facility.

There are numerous natural attractions in the area, including hiking along the Old Fort Point Loop Trail. Guests can also visit Jasper's Wildlife Museum or take a ride on the Jasper Sky Tram.

Amazing Views

Most guests are enthralled by the natural beauty of this location. Surrounded by nature, they feel far away from the hustle of urban life. According to guests, it doesn't matter which direction you turn, the view is fantastic.

Close Up With Nature

It isn't unusual to wake up and see wildlife just outside the windows when you are a guest. Elk, moose, and bears have been seen in the vicinity making guests feel more in touch with nature. With the cabins set back a little bit into the trees, they said they really felt part of nature.

Family Friendly

Guests who have children find the lodge to be a great place to stay. They mentioned that there is a safe playground for them to play in. Knowing they didn't have to worry about the children made the parents enjoy their stay more.

Negative Reviews

Small Cabins

Many guests complained about the limited space in their cabins. They stated that the rooms were just too small to accommodate everyone, even though the description said they would fit. Repeated complaints were that the beds were crammed into spaces, leaving no extra room.

Noise Issues

The walls in the lodge are paper thin, according to guests. As a result, you can hear every sound coming from the next room as well as from the restaurant on the lower floor. There were no complaints about noise in the cabins.

Felt Too Rustic

There was too much of a rustic feel to the accommodations, according to numerous guests. No television, no phones, and poor lighting were part of the complaint. Dark wood interiors and outdated furnishings also contributed. Guests said they expected better for the amount they paid to stay here.
