Positive Reviews

Friendly staff proffer old-school hospitality

The guys who look after things at this motel are the kind of people who go out of their way to get to know you and help you out. Great old-school hospitality here.

Very handy location for an overnight stop

Right off the Trans-Canada Highway and within very easy reach of eateries, petrol and grocery stores (for microwave meals and the like); it's easy to see why this motel is a perennially popular place for overnight road-trippers to catch some ZZZ's at.

Pool area is a welcome bonus

It's fair to say you don't see that many Canadian motels offering decent pool (and hot tub) facilities these days. The cute indoor pool provided here is actually very pleasant too, as is the nice barbeque area just outside it.

Negative Reviews

Can be noisy at night

The combination of being right next to the Trans-Canada Highway and having noisy trucks running in the car park throughout the night ensures ear plugs are often needed when trying to sleep here. The proximity of the railway (i.e. it's on the opposite side of the motorway) doesn't help matters much either...

Wi-Fi is a little hit and miss

Numerous guests have been left frustrated by the rather lacklustre performance of the free Wi-Fi provided here. Not ideal if you depend on the Internet for work.

Stairs are pretty steep

If you (or anyone travelling with you) have mobility issues then be sure to book a room on the ground floor. There's no lift and the sheer stairs aren't the easiest to negotiate.
