Positive Reviews

Picturesque countryside views.

Surrounded by woodland and private gardens, the hotel offers picturesque views from almost all the rooms and communal areas. There are some stunning views from the on-site spa where guests can relax and admire the scenery from the comfort of the whirlpool bath. There are also lots of seating areas in the garden from which guests can admire the lush greenery.

Restaurant popular with guests and locals.

The food served at the restaurant has been described as being tasty and prepared using high quality ingredients. The restaurant has built up a following with many of the local residents who also come here to sample the extensive range of wines that are on offer.

Clean and spacious rooms.

The rooms have been described as being of decent size with plenty of storage space in the shape of large wardrobes and chests of drawers. The bathrooms were also said to be big and well-equipped and guests were more than satisfied with the overall cleanliness of their rooms.

Negative Reviews

Poor soundproofing.

Guests complained about being able to hear noise from the adjoining rooms as well as creaking floor boards from the suites above them. The lack of soundproofing meant that some guests experienced noise disturbances from the other rooms as well as the corridors.

Too many stairs.

Most of the guest rooms are situated on the upper floors and some guests struggled with the stairs which have been described as quite steep. Considering there is no lift many found the daily climb to their rooms quite tiring.

Limited dinner menu.

The a la carte menu was a bit too formal for some guests who preferred to have more options and a chance to order something lighter. For this reason, some guests chose to eat at the local pubs and cafes.
