Positive Reviews

Great location for nature and outdoor enthusiasts.

The guest house is situated in the very picturesque Lake District meaning that there are plenty of nature trails and walks nearby. Many said that this was a great base for visiting Derwentwater and Grasmere which are both just a short drive away from the property. If you enjoy nature and the great outdoors then you'll certainly be in your element.

Well-presented rooms with scenic views.

Guests were pleased to find that their rooms were tastefully decorated with quality pieces of furniture and upholstery. The bathrooms were also said to be well-presented with up-to-date fixtures and fittings. Most of the rooms have pleasant views either of the nearby St John's church and the surrounding mountains which many thoroughly appreciated.

Tasty and hearty breakfasts.

The breakfasts have been praised by the majority of the guests who were impressed with wide range of items available on the continental buffet such including cereals, granola, yoghurts and fresh fruit. Those who chose the cooked dishes said they were very well prepared using locally sourced ingredients.

Negative Reviews

Parking issues.

The car park was said to be a bit of a walk away from the building which some found inconvenient whilst others objected to the limited amount of spaces available which meant that often guests were not able to find a free spot and had to park their cars elsewhere.

Too many stairs.

There is no lift on the premises and guests whose rooms were on the higher floors said that they found the daily climb to their accommodation quite tiring.

Some rooms on the small side.

Guests who stayed in the twin room said that they were rather disappointed due to the rather cramped space. There were no chairs to sit on and some also mentioned that there was limited storage space.
