Positive Reviews

A Central Location

Guests loved how close this hotel is to some of Kilkenny's top points of interest, including Kilkenny Castle. They thought the centralised location made it especially easy to get around and make the most of their time in the area.

You Can Get a Tasty Breakfast

Guests remarked that the coffee shop downstairs that's associated with the hotel serves a very good breakfast. You have the option of booking a room alone, or going with the bed-and-breakfast option, and guests were consistently pleased when they chose to take advantage of the availability of the morning meal.

The Staff Are Friendly

Guests generally found the staff were pleasant to deal with and worked hard to meet their needs. They also remarked that the staff were knowledgeable about the area.

Negative Reviews

Noise From the Street

Guests warned that the hotel is very close to a busy street, and near several popular pubs. They said they could hear the chatter as people went back home after nights out, and were often kept awake by the traffic noises.

The Rooms Aren't in Good Condition

Guests warned that the rooms have not been properly maintained. Comments were made about missing shower doors, bathroom doors that would not fully close and other faults that interfered with the overall pleasantness of guests' stays. Some of these functional shortcomings were so severe that guests said they would certainly not return.

A Lack of Hot Water

Guests were quite displeased when they discovered the property has an ongoing lack of hot water. When showering, guests frequently found that the water would only ever get lukewarm, or that the hot water would run out quickly and permanently.
