Positive Reviews

Convenient location with free parking

Motorists welcomed the free parking, adding that it was relatively easy to access local beauty spots and beaches plus golf courses, shopping malls, places of worship and the airport from the hotel’s central location. Several guests mentioned that the location was fairly tranquil too. Moreover, there were several restaurants nearby. Outdoors enthusiasts were delighted that they could easily reach islands in the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park by ferry. Meanwhile, those climbing nearby Mount Kinabalu were pleased to be within moderate driving distance of the peak.

Affordable rooms did the basics well

Many travellers described their rooms as simple but spacious and comfortable. There was praise for the generous number of power sockets provided. Guests also spoke highly of the pleasant city and mountain views on offer from selected rooms on the upper floors. Budget-minded reviewers often felt they got fair value for money since the room rates were normally competitive.

Good customer service

There was lots of praise from guests for the professional, friendly and helpful members of staff who provided good customer care. Diners largely liked the on-site restaurant too.

Negative Reviews

Cleanliness grumbles

Stained bedding, unsatisfactorily cleaned carpets, lingering smoky smells and bathrooms that could have been more vigorously cleaned were among the cleanliness concerns expressed by guests in certain rooms. There were occasional claims that pest control measures could have been strengthened too.

Free Wi-Fi woes

The free Wi-Fi network left some critics disappointed because it was only accessible in selected rooms on the upper floors. Moreover, those who could access it sometimes said the service was prone to a weak signal.

Maintenance could have been improved

Dodgy plumbing, aging mattresses, interruptions to the hot water supply, torn curtains and tired-looking furniture were among the maintenance issues encountered by visitors in several rooms.
