Positive Reviews

Amazing staff

The helpful and friendly members of staff at the hostel are always available and guests find they know Borneo so well that they can offer some valuable tourist information about the area. There are even occasions when the staff accompany guests on trips.

Easy access to food and entertainment

It's such a short walk along the riverfront to the main attractions that guests really appreciate this hostel's location. Travellers are pleased to find an array of wonderful restaurants, cosy cafes, and excellent entertainment nearby. There are heaps of reasonably priced food choices, street food stalls and bars to try in the area, too.

Affordable rates

It appeals to travellers that the room rates here tend to be inexpensive. Many guests feel that they get a decent amount of bang for their buck by staying here.

Negative Reviews

See-through showers

The attached bathrooms don't come with a regular door and guests find that the glass partitioning limits their privacy in some circumstances.

Scope to improve maintenance

Guests notice that the ceiling paint is peeling off in some rooms. This prompts them to suggest that a fresh coat of paint may be needed. Patches of mould and damp also cause concern in some rooms. Just a little extra care with cleaning and emptying out the bins would also go a long way towards improving the overall appearance for reviewers. Another disappointment is the free Wi-Fi network, which occasionally suffers from a poor signal and slow speeds.

Thin walls

Light sleepers note that noise travels quite easily from one room to another at this place due to its thin walls.
